Nice job guys, a Mako don't come along everyday. Amazing, the only other two I ever knew to catch a mako was Oz and Chris Sessions.

Matzy/Troy ... Props dudes. Freaking awesome catch.

Troy --- do you remember the P'Cola Mako hunting trip in 2009 I think it was. Travis will remember it well as he was only one brave enough to try and paddle through the 5 foot seas!

Honestly guys, a fish - a trophy and memory of a lifetime. Congrats.

Makes me want to put on a jacket just thinking about that trip....

Matzy/Troy

Been trying to think of something profound to say about this trip for a couple of days now and can't quite seem to come up with anything that I feel is worthy of such an accomplishment so I will keep it simple:

Well done fellas, well done!

Thanks again to everyone who posted. I appreciate all of the kind words.

Well, I am on "spring break" now and have really been thinking back to this trip. I still get a rush thinking about the whole experience from going from taking a final exam in the morning to catching a flight south that afternoon to catching the mako itself. Talk about a whirlwind.

I figured I would post up a couple pictures:

Here is the grin on my face when I was making the first drop of the trip. It was a long time coming!

Picture of Troy's 14/0 rod and reel that got the big blue torpedo.

Here is some rigging I played with while I was down there. That being said, the 20/0 was still used 90%.

I can't wait til the next time I hear the drum roll!
